  The Savage: the broken 1 The cool night air hit me in the face as we finally emerged from the warehouse. It was a welcome relief after the tension we had all felt in there and it helped to clear my head. Now that we had Rylan, we needed to get him to safety and then regroup about what we were going to do next. "We need to get him to a hospital," Simon said, breaking the silence and answering my question exactly as I had hoped he would. "And then we need to get home and regroup. When I left  the police force I became a private detective.  Upon my time doing that I realized that sometimes, in some circumstances, death was better. Some people were better off dead.  1 Simon sat in his car in the back of an empty parking garage. The deal was half the money up front. Then Simon will send it through a network of financial institutions to make it difficult to track.  The next morning Simon waited outside the house of his intended target. Don Meeks was his name, thirty-five and successful.
